HeartScan Ltd has successfully achieved the highest possible rating from the Care and Quality Commission (CQC) for the treatment provided to patients.
HeartScan, which provides cardiac and diagnostic screening services, was classed as ‘Outstanding’ following review by the CQC earlier this year, making it one of only four private medical centres in the North East which currently hold this rating.
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care and carries out regular assessments of health service providers across England to provide an indication of the quality of services available for patients. Five key areas are inspected by the CQC, focusing on safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.
HeartScan was singled out for its outstanding care and leadership. Staff were praised for their consistent patient-focus, highlighting that “people who used services were active partners in their care” and that “relationships between patients and staff were strong, caring and supportive”.
The clinic spends significant time working closely with patients to create a plan that fits individual needs, time scales and requirements. This was reflected in the assessors report, pointing out the flexible and tailored solutions, as well as a dedication to continually improve the services provided.
The final review, taking in all aspects of the evaluation designated an overall rating of ‘outstanding’, which is reserved only for services that are performing ‘exceptionally well’.
Dr Antoinette Kenny, Consultant and Founder of HeartScan, commented: “I am thrilled that the CQC has designated HeartScan as an ‘outstanding’ centre for care, making it one of the best in the region. We are always striving to provide the best possible service and it is brilliant to have assurance of the top quality care provided.”
